Download and print the stencil. Use standard paper.
Cut and tape the stencil to the front of your pumpkin in just the right place (after you find the perfect one from the pumpkin pile at the patch).
Poke holes along the design with a toothpick or pumpkin poking tool to transfer the outline. Be very careful on areas that are close together, you may need to go inside the black so that the edges of areas don’t touch.
Remove the paper and use a pumpkin carving knife to cut along the dotted outline.
Pop a candle or LED light inside and admire your glowing Zelda design!

Best Knives for Pumpkin Carving (a Pumpkin Carving Kit):

These kits typically include a variety of tools such as serrated saws, scoops, and etching tools. They are specifically designed for pumpkin carving, making them safer and more effective than regular kitchen knives.

Serrated Knife:

A small, serrated sharp knife is perfect for cutting through the tough skin of the pumpkin. Ensure it’s sharp to make clean cuts and precise shapes.

Scoop or Spoon:

A sturdy scoop, ice cream scoop, or large spoon helps in removing the seeds and pulp from inside of the pumpkin. Look for one with a comfortable handle and a sharp edge for scraping the sides clean.

Scooping Glove:

After you carve the best pumpkin, you will want to light it up. Instead of lighting a candle inside consider a battery operated tea light for a pumpkin light. You can even find ones that flicker for the traditional candle effect.

After punching holes you can use a marker to connect dots to ensure precise cuts to your pumpkin stencils.
