What is this printable?
This free printable set comes with three different pumpkin carving stencils inspired by the wildly popular, KPop Demon Hunters movie.
- One stencil spells out Kpop Demon Hunters in letters.
- One stencil has a microphone with sparkles (because every idol needs that spotlight ✨).
- And the last one? Derpy the tiger’s face—because let’s be real, he’s everyone’s favorite.
So whether you’re carving with kids, friends, or just want something fun for yourself, you’ve got options.

Why you’ll love this idea
First, it’s easy. I mean, carving pumpkins can be a mess. Having a stencil takes away the stress of trying to “wing it.” You just print, trace, and carve. It’s like paint-by-numbers, but with pumpkins.
Second, it’s something your kids will actually get excited about. My two love anything Kpop Demon Hunter-related, so when I pulled these out, they couldn’t wait to choose their design. One went for Derpy (of course 🐯), the other wanted the microphone. It turned into a fun family night without me needing to scroll Pinterest for hours. While blasting Golden and Soda Pop of course!

How to use the printable
Here’s the simple breakdown or look at more detailed pumpkin carving instructions here:
- Download the free printable set, enter your email at the bottom of this post.
- Print out your chosen stencil on regular paper.
- Cut a hole in the top of your pumpkin around the stem and remove the insides.
- Cut around the edge of the stencil so it lays flat on your pumpkin.
- Tape it on.
- Use a poking tool or toothpick to trace the design by poking small holes.
- Take the stencil off and carve along your dotted outline.
Pro tip: Use a pumpkin carving kit if you have one. Those little saws are safer for kids and make the details so much easier.
Take a look at a reader feature from Candice. She used the stencils to carve a Derpy Jack O’Lantern!

Parents are always searching for “easy pumpkin carving stencils for kids,” “free Kpop stencils,” and “Halloween pumpkin carving templates.” That’s why these are perfect—they’re simple, free, and themed.

Best Tools for Carving Pumpkins
To achieve the best results in pumpkin carving, it’s essential to have the right tools to go along with our additional tips. Here are some must-have items for your pumpkin carving toolkit:

Best Knives for Pumpkin Carving (a Pumpkin Carving Kit):
These kits typically include a variety of tools such as serrated saws, scoops, and etching tools. They are specifically designed for pumpkin carving, making them safer and more effective than regular kitchen knives.
Serrated Knife:
A small, serrated sharp knife is perfect for cutting through the tough skin of the pumpkin. Ensure it’s sharp to make clean cuts and precise shapes.
Scoop or Spoon:
A sturdy scoop, ice cream scoop, or large spoon helps in removing the seeds and pulp from inside of the pumpkin. Look for one with a comfortable handle and a sharp edge for scraping the sides clean.
Scooping Glove:
This is a cool tool to clean out pumpkin guts without having to actually touch them with your hands! My least favorite part of carving pumpkins. With this glove you can easily scrap out the insides of a pumpkin.
Punch Tools:
These are used to mark your design onto the pumpkin before carving. You can use a simple pushpin or buy specialized tools that come with carving kits. I’ve even used a ball point pen in a pinch. All you need is to be able to make a small hole as a guide for your knife.
Small Paring Knife:
For intricate details and fine lines, a small paring knife or an X-Acto knife is ideal. It allows for more control when carving delicate features.
Drill with Bits:
For more advanced designs, a drill with different-sized bits can help create perfect circles and unique textures on your pumpkin. A drill can also be handy for cleaning out the inside of a pumpkin. attach a electric hand mixer beater to the drill and use it to scrap the insides clean.
Tea Lights:
After you carve the best pumpkin, you will want to light it up. Instead of lighting a candle inside consider a battery operated tea light for a pumpkin light. You can even find ones that flicker for the traditional candle effect.
Dry Erase Marker or Sharpie:
After punching holes you can use a marker to connect dots to ensure precise cuts to your pumpkin stencils.
Ideas for ways to use the printable
- Pumpkin carving party 🎉 – Print several copies, set out a stack of pumpkins, and let everyone pick their favorite stencil.
- Classroom fun – Teachers could use the microphone or Derpy stencil as coloring sheets if carving isn’t allowed.
- Decorating without carving – Trace the stencil with markers or paint instead of cutting. (Less mess, same vibe.)
- Themed photo backdrop – Imagine a line of pumpkins glowing with Kpop designs at your front door. Instant Halloween win.

Variations for using the printable
You don’t have to stick to pumpkins. These stencils are flexible:
- Use them to decorate tote bags with fabric paint.
- Trace onto paper lanterns for a spooky glow.
- Make sugar cookies and use the stencils with powdered sugar or icing.
- Print smaller versions for stickers or cupcake toppers.
Basically, if it can be traced, you can use these stencils.
