Halloween is almost here! If your kids are obsessed with singing “doo doo doo doo doo doo” every five minutes (and let’s be honest… whose aren’t?), then you’re going to LOVE this. I’ve got the cutest baby shark pumpkin stencil printable ready for you to grab for free. Yep — your Halloween carving game is about to go from “meh” to “winning” without super intricate designs for a perfect pumpkin. 🙌

What is a Baby Shark Pumpkin Stencil Printable?

This is a free printable stencil you can print out and use to carve a baby shark design onto your pumpkin. Think of it like a pumpkin coloring page… but instead of crayons, you’re using a carving knife.

It’s got the outline of baby shark’s happy little face so you can transfer the design onto your pumpkin and make the cutest jack-o’-lantern on the block.

It’s also super beginner-friendly. You don’t have to be a carving pro. If you can trace and cut, you’re in.

Why You’ll Love This Idea 🦈💛

First, it’s adorable. Like, melt-your-heart adorable. Your pumpkin will instantly become the star of your porch. Trick-or-treaters will stop. Parents will snap photos. And your kids will proudly say, “That’s OUR baby shark pumpkin!”

Second, it’s EASY. No squinting at a complicated design or spending three hours trying to make it look right. Just tape the baby shark pumpkin stencil printable on your pumpkin, trace it, and carve. Done. You can even do this while watching a Halloween movie with the kids.

Plus, it’s a fun way to make Halloween more personal. If your kids have a favorite show or song, adding that theme into your holiday décor makes it extra special. And honestly? You’ll be humming doo doo doo doo doo doo while you carve… but in a good way.

How to Use the Printable

Here’s how to make the magic happen (for more detailed step-by-step instructions check out my how to carve a pumpkin guide):

  1. Download & Print – Grab your baby shark pumpkin stencil printable and print it on regular printer paper for an easy paper stencil.
  2. Prep Your Pumpkin – Clean out the inside with a sturdy scoop (kids love this part… or at least they say they do until they see the mess, honestly my least favorite part of carving pumpkins 😂).
  3. Attach the Stencil – Tape the stencil to your pumpkin. If your pumpkin is round, you might need to cut little slits in the paper to help it lay flat.
  4. Trace the Design – Use a pushpin or toothpick, simple pushpin, punch tools, or even a ball point pen to poke small holes along the stencil lines. This transfers the shape.
  5. Carve Away – Remove the stencil and follow your dotted lines with your carving tools like a sharp knife or the variety of tools that come in a pumpkin carving kit.
  6. Light it Up – Add tea lights to light up that friendly smile and carved edges of the beloved character for all to see!

Pro Tip: If you’re carving with kids around, give them their own small pumpkin and safe carving tools or paint so they can join in.

Pro Tip 2: Use an ice cream scoop or electric hand mixer beater to quickly remove pumpkin seeds.

Best Knives for Pumpkin Carving (a Pumpkin Carving Kit):

These kits typically include a variety of tools such as serrated saws, scoops, and etching tools. They are specifically designed for pumpkin carving, making them safer and more effective than regular kitchen knives.

Serrated Knife:

A small, serrated sharp knife is perfect for cutting through the tough skin of the pumpkin. Ensure it’s sharp to make clean cuts and precise shapes.

Scoop or Spoon:

A sturdy scoop, ice cream scoop, or large spoon helps in removing the seeds and pulp from inside of the pumpkin. Look for one with a comfortable handle and a sharp edge for scraping the sides clean.

Scooping Glove:

This is a cool tool to clean out pumpkin guts without having to actually touch them with your hands! My least favorite part of carving pumpkins. With this glove you can easily scrap out the insides of a pumpkin.

Punch Tools:

These are used to mark your design onto the pumpkin before carving. You can use a simple pushpin or buy specialized tools that come with carving kits. I’ve even used a ball point pen in a pinch. All you need is to be able to make a small hole as a guide for your knife.

Small Paring Knife:

For intricate details and fine lines, a small paring knife or an X-Acto knife is ideal. It allows for more control when carving delicate features.

Drill with Bits:

For more advanced designs, a drill with different-sized bits can help create perfect circles and unique textures on your pumpkin. A drill can also be handy for cleaning out the inside of a pumpkin. attach a electric hand mixer beater to the drill and use it to scrap the insides clean.

Tea Lights

After you carve the best pumpkin, you will want to light it up. Instead of lighting a candle inside consider a battery operated tea light for a pumpkin light. You can even find ones that flicker for the traditional candle effect.

Dry Erase Marker or Sharpie:

After punching holes you can use a marker to connect dots to ensure precise cuts to your pumpkin stencils.
