Free Toy Story Woody Pumpkin Carving Stencil Printable

Does your kid still love Woody, even after all these years? Same here! If you’re looking for a fun, free way to carve pumpkins this Halloween, I’ve got just the thing. Today I’m sharing my Toy Story Woody Pumpkin Stencil, and honestly, it might be the easiest carving project you do all season. 🎃

What Is This Printable?

This freebie is a black and white stencil featuring Woody from Toy Story. You simply print it out, tape it to your pumpkin, and trace the design before carving. No drawing skills required, which is a huge win in my book.

The stencil shows Woody’s face in a simple outline, made just for pumpkin carving. That means the lines are bold and easy to follow, even for beginners. You know how some stencils get way too detailed and end up frustrating? This one skips all that. It’s designed to be simple enough for a first-time carver, yet fun enough that older kids will want in on the project too. 🧡

Why You’ll Love This Idea

First off, this stencil takes all the guesswork out of pumpkin carving. Instead of staring at a blank pumpkin wondering what to draw, you just print, trace, and go. That alone saves so much time on a busy fall weekend. Plus, it’s completely free, so you can print as many copies as you need for the whole family.

Second, this printable brings a little extra magic to Halloween night. If your kids grew up watching Toy Story, seeing Woody light up on the front porch feels special. Meanwhile, you get to skip the stress of freehand carving, which honestly is a win for everyone involved. It’s a simple way to make an ordinary pumpkin feel like something worth showing off.

How to Use Your Toy Story Woody Pumpkin Stencil

Using this stencil could not be easier. First, download it by entering your name and email address in the dark green download box at the end of the post. Next, print the file on regular paper. Next, cut around the edges, leaving a little extra space around the design itself. Then, tape the stencil onto your clean, dry pumpkin, using a few pieces of tape to hold it in place. I have a full pumpkin carving guide with tips and tricks here.

After that, use a pin or a toothpick to poke small holes along all the lines of the design. This step transfers the outline right onto the pumpkin, so you’ll have a clear guide once you remove the paper. Finally, carve along the dotted lines using a small carving knife or pumpkin tool. Take your time here, since slow and steady really does win the race with detailed designs. 🔪

Best Tools for Carving Pumpkins

To achieve the best results in pumpkin carving, it’s essential to have the right tools to go along with our additional tips. Here are some must-have items for your pumpkin carving toolkit:

Best Knives for Pumpkin Carving (a Pumpkin Carving Kit):

These kits typically include a variety of tools such as serrated saws, scoops, and etching tools. They are specifically designed for pumpkin carving, making them safer and more effective than regular kitchen knives.

Serrated Knife:

A small, serrated sharp knife is perfect for cutting through the tough skin of the pumpkin. Ensure it’s sharp to make clean cuts and precise shapes.

Scoop or Spoon:

A sturdy scoop, ice cream scoop, or large spoon helps in removing the seeds and pulp from inside of the pumpkin. Look for one with a comfortable handle and a sharp edge for scraping the sides clean.

Scooping Glove:

This is a cool tool to clean out pumpkin guts without having to actually touch them with your hands! My least favorite part of carving pumpkins. With this glove you can easily scrap out the insides of a pumpkin.

Punch Tools:

These are used to mark your design onto the pumpkin before carving. You can use a simple pushpin or buy specialized tools that come with carving kits. I’ve even used a ball point pen in a pinch. All you need is to be able to make a small hole as a guide for your knife.

Small Paring Knife:

For intricate details and fine lines, a small paring knife or an X-Acto knife is ideal. It allows for more control when carving delicate features.

Drill with Bits:

For more advanced designs, a drill with different-sized bits can help create perfect circles and unique textures on your pumpkin. A drill can also be handy for cleaning out the inside of a pumpkin. attach a electric hand mixer beater to the drill and use it to scrap the insides clean.

Tea Lights

After you carve the best pumpkin, you will want to light it up. Instead of lighting a candle inside consider a battery operated tea light for a pumpkin light. You can even find ones that flicker for the traditional candle effect.

Dry Erase Marker or Sharpie:

After punching holes you can use a marker to connect dots to ensure precise cuts to your pumpkin stencils.

Ways to Use the Printable

This stencil works for way more than just a front porch pumpkin. Here are a few ideas to try:

  • A fun family carving night activity
  • A classroom or homeschool Halloween craft
  • A porch display alongside your other jack-o’-lanterns
  • A fall party centerpiece
  • A trace-and-paint project for younger kids who aren’t ready for knives
  • A pumpkin painting guide instead of carving

Basically, anytime you need an easy Halloween activity, this printable has you covered.
