This Halloween bark is super easy, super cute, and totally spooky (in a fun way, not the hiding-under-your-bed kind 😉).
It’s the perfect treat to whip up with the kids after school or bring to a party. You don’t need baking skills—just a few ingredients and a little Halloween spirit!
Let’s get into this frightfully fun recipe!
Hello my Halloween loving friends. My good friend Allison from Cupcake Diaries loves to put on a fun 30 Days of Halloween. I’ve decided to participate again this year! Halloween is a really fun holiday especially for kids! I’ve got a great idea to get the kids in the kitchen with you, Spooky Halloween Bark!
What is Halloween Bark?
Halloween bark is a no-bake chocolate treat that looks like a monster party exploded on a tray—in the best way 😆
It’s made with melted chocolate, fun candy toppings like eyeballs and colorful sprinkles, then broken into yummy, jagged pieces.
Think of it like chocolate bark’s silly cousin who’s dressed up in a costume and full of sugar.
The best part?
It’s totally customizable. You can throw just about anything spooky or sweet on top.
And it’s a great activity to get the kids in the kitchen. Win-win!

How to Make Halloween Bark
This comes together so fast, which makes it perfect for last-minute Halloween parties or classroom treats!
Step-by-step:
- Line a large baking sheet sheet with wax or parchment paper. Easy cleanup? Yes, please.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, add the white chocolate wafers.
- Heat for 30 seconds, then stir. Repeat until melted and smooth. (Usually 2-3 times total.)
- Add orange food coloring until it’s a nice pumpkin-y color.
- Pour or spread the melted chocolate onto the lined baking sheet in an even layer, about ½ inch thick. An offset spatula can help spread it evenly.
- Let the fun begin—sprinkle candy eyeballs, sixlets, and all your spooky toppings.
- Press them in a bit so they stick once the chocolate sets.
- Pop the tray into the freezer for 1 hour or the refrigerator for a little bit longer.
- Take it out and break into bite-sized pieces with a sharp knife (or hands, honestly—it’s more fun that way).
Done and delicious with this fun halloween treat! 🍫👻

Honestly? You can’t mess this up.
I love how cute the almond bark turned out. Like little halloween monsters. With eyes and a purple nose. The kids are sure to love helping make this fun easy Halloween dessert.

Can You Store or Make Halloween Bark Ahead?
You totally can!
Once the bark is fully set, store it in an airtight container in the fridge or at room temp (if it’s not too warm in your house).
It lasts for up to 2 weeks, but let’s be honest… it’s gonna be gone way before that 😅
You can even make it a few days ahead for a party. Just wait to break it into pieces until right before serving if you want it to look extra cute.
Common Questions about Halloween Bark
Can kids help make Halloween bark?
Yes! This is a perfect recipe to make with little hands. They can stir, sprinkle, and press the candies in.
Can I use regular chocolate chips?
Sure! Just know that melting wafers melt more smoothly and set up quicker.
What kind of food coloring works best?
I like gel food coloring because it gives a brighter color without watering down the chocolate.
Can you freeze Halloween bark?
You can! Just store it in a freezer-safe container for up to a month. Let it sit at room temp for a few minutes before serving.
Is Halloween bark gluten-free?
That depends on your candy toppings! The chocolate usually is, but double-check your add-ins to be safe.
