Brownies

  • 1 box Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 eggs

Frosting

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Room temperature, one stick
  • 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream
  • 1 pinch salt

Additional Ingredients/Supplies

  • 1/4 cup red melting wafers
  • 1/4 cup green melting wafers
  • Confetti sprinkles
  • Red food gel
  • Silicone ribbon mold 

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 
  • Line 9in x 9in baking dish with parchment paper. Make sure there is excess parchment paper hanging over the sides so you can easily lift the brownies out.
  •  In a large bowl combine brownie ingredients and mix to combine. 
  • Spread mixture into pan and bake for 32 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Transfer brownies to a rack and allow to cool (approximately 30 min).
  • Meanwhile, place each color melting wafers in their own microwave safe bowl and heat in 30 second increments until chocolate is melted and smooth. 
  • Place chocolate in silicone ribbon molds. Put in the refrigerator to cool for 5 minutes. After chocolate has set, remove from the mold.
  • To make the frosting, add the butter to a large stand mixing bowl with whisk attachment. Mix on medium speed for 2 minutes. 
  • Turning the speed to low, slowly add the powdered sugar until it’s fully incorporated. 
  • Add vanilla, cream and salt and mix on high for 2 minutes. 
  • Pause to scrape the sides of the bowl and mix for 1 additional minute on high speed. Transfer frosting to smaller bowl.
  • After the brownies have cooled, cut them into 9 equal pieces. You will turn the brownies over to decorate the flat surface. 
  • Apply a base layer of frosting, decorate with red food gel, confetti sprinkles and chocolate ribbon.
