DIY Lace Headwrap

For the last couple of weeks I’ve been working on eating better and exercising more with the Feel Great in 8 challenge. It has been going well and in a couple more weeks I will give you all my details. But while I’ve been exercising, I’ve been dreaming of a great way to keep my crazy long hair out of my face. I would love to use my Downton Abbey Inspired Headband but it doesn’t quite fit the bill. I played around with some lace and my sewing machine and whipped up this beautifully easy DIY Lace Headwrap Tutorial.

  • scissors

Start by measuring the stretchy lace around your head following your hair line around your head. Cut the lace off about an inch less then it took to go around the head.

Pin the ends together. Overlap the ends enough that it will be easy to sew.

Sew a straight stitch, remember to back stitch at the first and end. I used the orange thread to show the stitch, but it would be better  to use black (or the same color as the lace).

If you don’t have a sewing machine, just sew a running stitch and tie it off at each end.

Cut a smaller piece of lace and tie it in a double knot around the wrap to hide the stitch. It is done and super easy!

This lace headwrap keeps my hair out of my face when exercising or working. I love that it still looks pretty. I guess it could still almost be Downton Abbey Inspired, even though it is a DIY lace headwrap.
