Snap Conference 2013 Recap {Loving It}

Follow along with my journey at Snap Conference 2013.Create Joy

Let me just tell you how much fun I had last weekend at Snap Conference 2013. Let me share with you some of the wisdom I’ve gleaned that can apply to life (not just blogging). The conference theme was CREATE JOY. I hope that I can in some way help inspired you to create joy.

Meet my roomies! Ashley of Flats to Flip Flops. Adrienne of Free Time Frolics. Andie of Maybe I Will. I will tell you I was a little worried about being without the Mr. and around soo many ladies. But thanks to these cute girls I had a great time! So check them out and leave them a little love.

Oh and Adrienne made those adorable bags. They were so cute and I think we were lovingly referred to as the bag girls.

Thursday

We started classes Thursday. It was a whirlwind. I loved learning from some of my favorite bloggers. Desiree from The 36th Avenue touched me in her class about blogging basics, no surprise here, but I teared up for a bit.

Be so good they can’t ignore you.-Desiree

That night we had a PJ party complete with cookies and crafts. It was nuts and so much fun. Look at all these ladies crafting it up.

You can see Andie below making a banner thanks to Modern Yardage, a fantastic sponsor. Modern Yardage has these gorgeous patterned fabrics. Check out how yummy their prints are.

Friday

WOW. This was a day full of classes. So much great information. Here are a few snippets of what stood out to me.

Be Flexible.

Enjoy your babies (and husbands). Don’t let your blog come before them.

Consistency makes your brand easy to recognize.

For our night life we shopped it up at the Queen Bee Market. I found some cute things from Alexis Maddox Designs (a chevron cutting board and wooden cut out keys) and The Printed Palette (adorable arrow graphic tee).

Saturday

I love these cute girls. It is socially acceptable to be playing on instagram, twitter or facebook at a blog conference. So we all soaked it up.

At lunch on Saturday Lowe’s, the title sponsor for Snap Conference, hosted a reality T.V. show type contest. Adrienne was involved and she created this ottoman using unconventional materials.

All of the teams were so creative. They had an hour and limited materials, but unlimited imagination. There was palette art, bug homes, planter boxes, etc.

I loved it. There were so many more great classes this day. One of the most striking pieces of advice was from Dennis Goedegebuure from The Next Corner and a Search Engine Optimization whiz.

Build real relationships, online and offline.

Let me tell you, I am so grateful that I was able to do this at Snap Conference. I met so many real, down to earth, sweet girls at the conference. I can’t wait to introduce you to some of them, like Camille, Kristen and Elyse of Six Sister’s Stuff. Seriously, super sweet, chill, fun girls!

Homes.com & ForRent.com hosted this adorable photo booth and the closing party on Saturday night. My photo booth buddies: Tara, Wendy and Kari of The Dating Divas. Nickelle of Novae Clothing. Kaylynn of Among the Young. Ashley of Flats to Flip Flops. Adrienne of Free Time Frolics. Andie of Maybe I Will.

I wish I could tell you all the fun and kind faces I met, I might just have to do another post just for that.

Here are some of my Instagram glam’s from the weekend. The cute girls in the middle row top are some fun friends who let us sit at their special “Reserved” table! Love Tausha of Sassy Style Redesign. Melissa of Hollyhocks & Honeybees. Desiree of The 36th Avenue.

It wouldn’t have truly been a conference without all the great SWAG. There are so many great things here and the sponsors were great. You can find out more about the sponsors on the Snap Conference page.

I hope that you’ve had fun checking out what I learned at Snap Conference. Just remember that we are all people trying to do better. Give others the benefit of the doubt, leave behind the drama and just be you.
