My Favorite Uplifting Quotes

Uplifting quotes are a great way to say what you mean when you don’t know how to say it. Or they can be a great motivator and reminder to keep going and trying. I’m sharing a few of my favorites.

Do you follow me on Pinterest, Instagram, or Facebook? If you follow me in any of those places, you will know I like love to share quotes. I feel like I can never quite express what I am feeling in the right words, and then I will find a quote written by someone else that fits what I want to say perfectly. Or I come across something so profound I have to read it a few times and then ponder it to really get the meaning.

I’ve wanted a place to keep a log of my favorite quotes, and so I will add them here and update as I find new ones I like.

“God is anxiously waiting for the chance to answer your prayers and fulfill your dreams, just as He always has. But He can’t if you don’t pray, and He can’t if you don’t dream. In short, He can’t if you don’t believe.” Jeffery R. Holland, Terror, Triumph, and a Wedding Feast.

I mean, live for those dreams. This one woke me up a bit. If you don’t dream it or try for it, then Heavenly Father can’t help you achieve it!

“Our task is to become our best selves. One of God’s greatest gifts to us is the joy of trying again, for no failure ever need be final.” -Thomas S. Monson, The Well Within

No failure is ever final. You can always start again tomorrow or even right now. It might not be easy, but forgiveness is real. Fix what can be fixed and keep going.`

“The best and most clear indicator that we are progressing spiritually and coming unto Christ is the way we treat other people.” – Marvin J. Ashton, The Tongue Can be a Sharp Sword

I think this quote says so much about who we are and how we can be more Christlike and kind. I believe our treatment of others show so much about who we really are. It doesn’t matter if it is someone we know very well or not at all.

“Worrying is like paying a debt you don’t owe.” – Mark Twain

This is such an uplifting quote for me, because I am a worrier. And I also understand how it feels to repay a debt, and how I would never want to feel like I had to pay a debt that I don’t owe. Such a great comparison in this one.

“I firmly believe that any man’s finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle – victorious.” – Vince Lombardi

Legendary football coach, Vince Lombardi has lots of great quotes about wining. Some are simple, but I love the imagery that feeling that comes with being victorious, rather than just winning! It’s a battle to win a good cause!

“Very often in life, God gives us difficulties to bring out the best in us. It is true, life does not determine winners. Winners determine life.” – Marvin J. Ashton, A Pattern in All Things

When going through struggles it is so hard to realize they are there to help us. It isn’t until we are on the other side of those trials that we truly realize the good they have provided despite the hardship.
