Peanut Butter Christmas Trees Recipe

A quick, no-bake peanut butter Christmas tree bar recipe. Decorate them to look like little trees.

Ingredients

Peanut Butter Bars

  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • ½ cup corn syrup
  • ¾ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup crushed pretzels
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 2 cups crispy rice cereal

Chocolate Topping

  • ¾ cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter

Decorations

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 ½ tbsp milk
  • 1-2 drops green gel food coloring
  • Sprinkles of choice

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine the pretzels, oats, and cereal.
  • In a pan over low heat, combine the corn syrup and brown sugar. Wait for the mixture to bubble for about a minute then remove from heat. Add the peanut butter.

  • Pour the pan mixture into the cereal mixture and stir.

  • Firmly press the mixture into an 8x8 baking dish lined with parchment paper. Set aside.

  • In a bowl, add the chocolate chips and peanut butter. Microwave for 30 second intervals until smooth then pour over the mixture evenly.

  • Place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour or the freezer for 20-30 minutes.

  • When the bars are set, remove them from the pan. Cut down the middle then cut each half into 5 triangles.

  • Mix together the powdered sugar and milk then add the green food coloring. Add to a piping bag and pipe zig zag lines onto the trees with the sprinkles you chose.
