Why Youāll Love This Idea
First, it helps you slow down. December flies by, and sometimes the best way to soak in the season is by curling up with a blanket, a good movie, and a mug of hot chocolate ā. This printable gives you a plan, so you can actually make time for those quiet moments.
Second, it turns movie nights into something your family looks forward to. My kids literally ask, āWhatās tonightās movie?ā before they even brush their teeth. It becomes a little tradition youāll want to repeat every year. And letās be honestāanything that makes bedtime easier is a win.
Plus, you can add extra fun! Dress in Christmas pajamas, bake cookies, or have everyone rate the movie at the end. Itās such an easy way to sprinkle a little extra joy into your nights.
All you need is a TV, a streaming account like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV, Peacock etc. (or DVD if youāre old-school like me), and some snacks.

How to Use the Printable
Hereās how it works!
- Download the printable calendar (head to the bottom of this post to enter your email address and the pdf file will be sent directly to your inbox). Print it out on regular paper or cardstock.
- Choose your version. Go colorful for fun or black and white to let the kids color it in. Or grab the blank one and fill it out together as a family one day at the end of November.
- Hang it up. Stick it on your fridge, in your family room, or on a bulletin board.
- Check it daily. Each day, watch the movie listed and cross it off as you go!
If you use the blank version, you can pick from your favorite Christmas moviesāclassics like Itās a Wonderful Life, funny ones like Elf, or family favorites like The Polar Express. You can even include newer movies streaming on Netflix, Disney+, or Hallmark Channel.
Some families also love turning it into a Christmas countdown calendar, checking off each movie until Santa arrives. Others like to make it a weekend tradition, watching two or three movies back-to-back or one on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. However you use it, itās all about creating fun, cozy memories together. š¬
