Caramel Apple Skewers. So easy to make and so delicious at thebensonstreet.com

I love to have a treat that isn’t to sweet. Using apples and bananas in different ways are a satisfying way to please the sweet tooth while not going way off into the major treat zone.

Caramel apple skewers are also a great after school snack. Slice up the apples and let the kids drizzle the sauce and even dip the skewers. Or share these skewers at a fall party. Everyone can grab a skewer and top with their favorite toppings. Sprinkle on nuts or sprinkles for a fun twist.

What Are Caramel Apple Skewers?

Caramel apple skewers are a fun twist on the classic caramel apple.

Instead of dipping a whole apple (which is cute but kinda messy), you cut the apple into bite-sized cubes and stack them on skewers. Then you drizzle them with gooey caramel and melty chocolate sauce. That’s it!

Easier to eat. Easier to share. Way more fun.

How to Make Caramel Apple Skewers

This recipe is so easy, even your kids can help. Or at least steal a few apple pieces while you work. 😉

Step 1: Cut the apples

Use an apple slicer or a knife to slice your apples.
Then cut apples into 3 smaller chunks.

🍎 Pro tip: Squeeze a little lemon juice on the apples if you’re worried about browning. Another option is to soak them in Sprite or 7up.

Step 2: Add apples to the skewers

Thread the apple chunks onto the skewers.
You can do 3-5 pieces per stick, depending on the size.

Step 3: Drizzle time!

Drizzle caramel sauce over the skewers.
Then drizzle chocolate sauce (or melted chocolate chips) over the top too. 🍫

You can also roll them in chopped nuts or sprinkles if you’re feeling fancy.

Feel free to add in any other extras you like. You could always drizzle with maple syrup or honey if you prefer.

Step 4: Serve and enjoy

Eat immediately or pop them in the fridge for a few minutes to let the toppings set.

They are delicious either way! And if you want to add a touch of savory to this snack, pair the skewers with cheese cubes.

Variations to Try

Want to switch things up a little? Here are a few ideas:

  • Add toppings like chopped peanuts, pretzel bits, or crushed cookies.
  • Use green apples for a tart twist.
  • Go peanut butter drizzle instead of caramel. (YUM!)
  • Try white chocolate instead of milk chocolate.
  • Use fruit mix-ins like grapes or banana slices for variety.

There’s no wrong way to skewer your apple.

Can I Make These Ahead of Time?

Yes and no. 🍏

You can prep the apples and thread them onto skewers ahead of time. Just keep them in the fridge in an airtight container and splash with lemon juice to keep them from browning.

But for best results, drizzle the caramel and chocolate right before serving so they stay pretty and fresh.

If you’re making them for a party, assemble everything a few hours before and drizzle right before guests arrive!

Common Questions About Caramel Apple Skewers

Do the apples get brown?

They can—but a little lemon juice helps! If you’re serving them the same day, you’ll be fine. Or feel free to soak apple slice chunks in Sprite or 7Up.

Can I use store-bought caramel sauce?

Yes! Totally fine. You can also melt caramel candies if you want a thicker drizzle.

Can I use other fruit?

Yep. Bananas, strawberries, even grapes work great too. Just keep the caramel in mind—they might get slippery!

Are these good for kids’ parties?

Yes! They’re the perfect size for little hands, and kids love anything on a stick. You could also do a mini version by using toothpicks and one apple cube per toothpick.
