I haven’t made anything with washi tape for a while and it was definitely time to bring it out for Christmas decor! This is an easy DIY candy cane striped washi tape wreath hanger idea. I love the red and white! It really just screams christmas with a simple update.

I found this silver wreath hanger at the dollar store. I am beginning to love the dollar store. There really do have some great finds there! I got the washi tape from Pick Your Plum, but you can find it at most craft stores and various places online.

Start at the top by taping around the wreath hanger. Continue down the wreath hanger, lining up the stripes with the ones above it. Repeat all the way down the the wreath hanger. As it starts to curve, tape on the front of the curve and secure behind where the wreath will hang. I think it is easiest to tape it all the way around the back. If the tape is taped to itself it sticks better.

Hang up the wreath hanger and display your favorite wreath. This is such a cute simple craft! Anyone could do it. It really adds something special to my Christmas wreath.

I though about painting the stripes onto the wreath hanger, but am so glad I didn’t. The washi tape makes it so much easier and more precise stripes.

I really do just love washi tape. It is so versatile. I like things that I can use in more ways than one. I look forward to taping up goodies with this candy can stripe washi tape.

The Mr. is pretty adamant about waiting until after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas.

So after I recover from Black Friday shopping, you know what I’ll be doing.

When do you start decorating for Christmas?
