Basic Crepes

A simple, base recipe for all of your crepe dreams.

  • Electric Crepe Maker
  • Blender


  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt


  • Add liquid ingredients to the blender first, followed by the dry ingredients.
  • Cover and blend until smooth. Scrapping down sides as needed.
  • Pour into a shallow dish, like a pie plate.
  • Quickly dip heated (sprayed with cooking spray) electric crepe maker into mixture.
  • Cook until edges lift up and remove to a plate or cooling rack.
  • Add filling and enjoy warm.


Crepes can also be made in a frying pan on the stovetop in a hot ban on high heat. Add a small amount of batter to the bottom of the pan and swirl around to coat pan. Cook until edges pull away from the sides of the pan.
I think it is easier to use the electric crepe maker, but either method will work with this recipe.
