Servings: 4 burgers

Ingredients

  • 1 t salt
  • ½ t black pepper
  • 1 t garlic powder
  • 1 t onion powder
  • 1 t paprika
  • 1 lb ground beef or premade patties
  • Sliced cheese gouda, cheddar, pepperjack, etc.
  • Humburger Buns lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc to serve

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to the high broiler setting. Prepare your cooking pan that is oven safe with a light layer of non-stick spray. Alternatively, you can use a baking sheet with sides and spray with non-stick spray. Set aside.
  • In a small bowl, combine the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Mix thoroughly.
  • If shaping your own meat, divide the meat into four equal portions and flatten into a disc that is approximately 4 inches wide and about a half inch thick. The patties will shrink as they cook.
  • Sprinkle the spice mix over all sides of your patties.
  • Place the seasoned patties in your prepared cooking dish.
  • Cook in the preheated oven for 3 minutes at a time and flipping the burger occasionally. Check for doneness during every check. Medium should take about 6-9 minutes and well-done should take about 12-15 minutes. Remember that the meat will continue to cook for a few more minutes after removing from the oven.
  • During the last 3-minute cook time, place your sliced cheese on each pattie, if desired, that way it melts onto the burger.
  • Serve immediately with the buns, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc.

Notes

Storage: Leftover patties can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 48 hours. Reheat before serving.
