How can it already be December?!?! I can’t believe Christmas is right around the corner. I have so much to do. It is kind of intimidating. One thing I’ve learned am learning is to simplify. Any way we can simplify our lives gives us that much more time to enjoy them. I want to share with you my tips for simplifying your holiday cards by using Instagram photos or your phone photos with the Walgreens Mobile App

1. Use photos from your phone.

Sometimes the best photos are captured using our smart phones rather than our fancy cameras. This is such a blessing. Never before in history has it been so easy to document our lives through images. I used a photo from our summer vacation this year for our family card. It made it a breeze. I can only get my husband to take family pictures every other year or so (am I the only one?). Rather than stress about family photos, it was way easier to use this photo. Plus, some of the best candid shots come from our phones. Oh and this saves some cash on hiring a photographer.

2. Take your own family pictures.

Some of you may still want a nice group shot of your family. Have you ever tried taking it yourself? No appointment, no extra cash, just getting everyone together and use the timer on your camera and a tri-pod. If you aren’t sure about that still, grab a friend to take a couple of quick shots.

3. Eliminate Clutter.

I love getting family updates from everyone, but I think times have changed. We have many forms of social media, texting, and emailing to stay in touch with family and friends throughout the year. I’d say forego the lengthy five page letter that accompanies your holiday card. It will save time and money. Add a short and sweet holiday greeting and send the card on its way.

4. Order cards with the Walgreens Mobile App.

I loved how easy this was. Really. Seriously took me five minutes to order and they were ready in less than an hour for pick up (normally it takes an hour). I downloaded the app, scrolled through the cards, inserted my photo and text. Ordered and picked up! I may never order cards any other way again. I loved that it was done all on my phone. I didn’t even have to pull out my computer. They could easily be ordered anytime, anywhere.

Didn’t it turn out great? I love the funky lime green and pink. A fun twist on regular old red and green.

 5. Customize your cards to fit your personality.

I love a card that reflects a family’s style. I chose this card because of the fun colors and adorable lettering. It is so easy to customize holiday cards. Change the text for your family’s favorite phrases. Share funny photos or more serious ones. Just be sure to make your card fit with your family. I love baker’s twine so I even tied my cards like a present to slip into packages for family. Just be you. There are endless options for holiday cards that you will be sure to find one that fits your style.

  1. I LOVE how your cards turned out!! These are great tips on how to simplify the Christmas card process! We take our own Christmas card picture every year and it always works out so much better than paying a ton of money for a photographer! Thanks for sharing the Walgreens app! I will definitely be checking it out!

  2. A mobile app for making cards?!? How awesome is that? I still do the old-fashioned handwritten cards for our extended family, but this would be WAY easier 😉

  3. You have good taste :). These are the same cards we ordered from Walgreens. They are always having promo codes around Christmas, too. I got mine 50% off. Everyone tells me they look forward to our yearly family picture. This design is my favorite yet!!

  4. How cute!! I love to make photo Christmas cards but haven’t ever used Walgreens before… that’s going to have to change! I love that they have an app! It will be perfect for this years, it’s a little crazy around here. lol

  5. I have a pretty craptastic phone so we don’t take a lot of phone photos, but I have attempted the tripod Christmas family photo. We’ll see how we do this year with the toddler that won’t stop moving!
