Oatmeal Scotchies

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange extract
  • 2 1/2 cups oatmeal
  • 1 1/2 cups frosted flakes
  • 1 2/3 cups butterscotch chips/morsels

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt in a small bowl.
  • Beat butter, sugar and brown sugar together.
  • Add eggs, vanilla and orange extract.
  • Gradually add flour mixture.
  • Stir in oats, frosted flakes, and chips.
  • Drop by rounded teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies or 9 to 11 minutes for crunchy cookies.
