It has been a long winter! I am so glad spring is here, but with that it is sometimes hard to stay positive. In Idaho it seems like it is spring one day and then winter again the next. This combined with being a new mom, has made it hard for me always to stay on top of my positivity. As I’ve tried to improve my positivity, I have a few tips I want to share.

Self Care Time

Take time to enjoy the spring all by yourself. Enlist Dad, grandma or a babysitter and get yourself some alone time. Head to your favorite store, get a pedicure, go for a scenic drive. Do whatever you want to enjoy the springtime and refresh yourself. If you don’t take care of yourself, then it is harder to take care of your children.

While I was enjoying some self care time at my favorite neighborhood grocery store, Smith’s I found even more ways to stay mom positive this spring with two awesome products that help provide relief from allergens.

Avoid Allergies

Allergies can definitely put a damper on your spring positivity. Beat them to the punch with Flonase. I have family members who use Flonase continually to keep allergies at bay. All that is needed is a spray each day to help block 6 allergic substances (most allergy pills only block one*) for 24 hours. Plus, it helps block nasal congestion**. Winning. Learn more about managing allergies from Flonase. To save money on Flonase check for coupons here.

Another way to help keep on top of allergens is Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes. I’ve been a fan of these since college (when I really had to do some serious cleaning). They are great for disinfecting and wipe away 99.9% of the most common allergens***. I love products that do double duty.

Enjoy a Hobby

This goes right along with self care, but take a little bit of time each day or week to work on a hobby. Not something for work, or the kids. Something just to relieve the stress. I like to do a little hand lettering and reading. Even just ten minutes a day of something small can help bring more positivity to your spring.

Take a Walk

My daughter loves to take walks. It is great to get out and breathe in some fresh air and get a little exercise. Taking a walk can sound boring, but make it fun. Look for specific things on your walks. One day look for things of different colors. The next look for animals or nature items, etc. This can really help stretch legs, brains and hopefully tire out children with cabin fever.

Spring Cleaning

Spring is a great time to clean. This winter has been a severe flu season and it is hanging on through the spring. Tackling the whole house at once can be a daunting task. Take time each day to organize a small area and clean it out. My go to for killing germs and allergens are Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes. They work great for any hard non-porous surface. Another way to get a little more cleaning done is to have the kids pitch in. Find age appropriate jobs and put them to work, I know I will!

One on One Time with Kids

With a new baby I’ve learned that each of my littles need a little more one on one time with mom. By taking time to play and focus on each child can help avoid meltdowns and tantrums from feeling like they have taken a back seat to new siblings. And no meltdowns equals a more positive momma.

What ways do you stay mom positive in the spring?

*Mechanism vs most over-the-counter (OTC) allergy pills. FLONASE nasal sprays act on multiple inflammatory substances (histamine, prostaglandins, cytokines, tryptases, chemokines, and leukotrienes). The exact number and precise mechanism are unknown.

**vs single-ingredient antihistamines which do not treat nasal congestion

***Use Clorox products as directed for removal of non-living allergens like pet dander, dust mite matter and pest matter on hard nonporous surfaces in your home. Keep out of reach of children.
