Ash and Bramble

By: Sarah Prineas

Extreme Book Nerd Challenge Category: A young adult book

Do you remember a while ago when I read Rose and Thorn? It was the second book in this series. I read it and was slightly confused the entire time. I’m not as confused anymore, because I read Ash and Bramble the first book. Rose and Thorn is based loosely off of Sleeping Beauty. Ash and Bramble is loosely based on Cinderella. I have a soft spot in my heart for Cinderella so that might be why I liked Ash and Bramble better. Or maybe it had something to do with understanding what was going on. If someone reads them in the correct order let me know what you think.

This book definitely explained more of what was going on and why things happened the way they did in the second book. If you love fairy tales, try out this slightly twisted take on the stories. Where a witch is good and a godmother is bad. What are your favorite fairy tale inspired stories?
