A Man Called Ove

By: Fredrick Backman

Extreme Book Nerd Challenge Category: A book recommended by someone you just met

This book is about a grumpy old man and his life. I enjoyed this book very much. There were so many endearing things that he did and the end of the book had me in tears. Follow along to find out why this man became so grumpy and how he learned to love again. Overall, the theme of this book is learning to forget yourself and find your life by helping others. I really needed this. I am easily caught up in myself, but there are many ways we can help others. It might take some time to warm up to Ove, but I think in the end he is quite lovable.

Now I just need to watch the movie to see how well it follows the book.

My one problem with this book is there is a bit of swearing. If that bothers you, then you might want to skip this book.

Have you read A Man Called Ove?
