An Easy Fall Craft for Home Decor, Pumpkin Jar Tutorial with American Home™ by Yankee Candle® brand at thebensonstreet.com

I feel like the adjustment to having a new baby has been a little crazy. Sometimes I’m not sure if I am remembering anything, but it is all worth it. I feel like I head out to Wal-Mart just about every other day. On one of my recent trips I was excited to find out that there is a new American Home by Yankee Candle® line.

I spent about ten minutes smelling all the fragrances in the Home and Candle area of the store. I remember my mom always burning candles as a child and knew I wanted to have that tradition in my home too, but what to do with the empty jars? I did some thinking and created this adorable pumpkin jar tutorial. Perfect for gifting, decorating and more. Plus, the prices were great. I purchased a couple of the medium apothecary jars for $10.93 and the large apothecary jars for $14.93.  And some fragrance beads to give them a try. At $3.43 I couldn’t pass them up!

Always follow the instructions for use to a tee! After using a candle until it is gone, an adorable jar remains with endless possibilities, like this pumpkin jar.

To make this pumpkin jar tutorial you will need:

To get your jar all nice and clean remove any remaining wax by putting jar in the freezer for an hour or so and then use a knife to chip away excess wax. Then clean the jar with rubbing alcohol inside. Remove the stickers on the outside using rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone. Dry jar completely.

Using a cardboard box or newspaper to protect your work area, spray paint the lid with brown spray paint (or green if you prefer a green stem) to become the pumpkin stem. Paint using several light coats. Allow each coat to dry for about 20 minutes before spraying another coat.

Repeat the same process with the orange spray paint on the jar. Then allow the jar and lid to dry for 24 hours before handling.
