Gingersnap Molasses Cookies. A very traditional holiday cookie. They are a perfect match for decorating gingerbread houses. You get all that flavor without eating your beautiful house.

Not everyone loves a good molasses cookie, but those who do love, love, love them. So maybe at your house they will be just perfect for Santa or the kids. Try them out and see how they like them. If they don’t then more for you! If you want to create an easy cookie with no frosting this recipe is just the ticket.

Molasses Cookies

A yummy gingersnap drop cookie recipe.
Prep Time20 minutes
Cook Time40 minutes
Total Time1 hour

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice optional

Instructions

  • Mix together sugar and all wet ingredients.
  • Sift in dry ingredients and mix with spoon.
  • Roll 1 teaspoon sized ball in sugar.
  • Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 325 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
