Simple DIY Earrings by Mellywood Mansion

Friends, I have been having lots of fun at SNAP (A blog conference and basically a big girls weekend)! Feel free to follow along on Instagram. Since I am off having fun one of my good blog friends is here to share with you an easy yet fun DIY earrings tutorial!!!

P.S. She is from Australia! That is pretty neat, especially because my Nana is from Australia!

G’day there Benson Street blog readers.

I’m Mel usually found here at Mellywood’s Mansion. I’m a Mum not a Mom, it’s an Aussie thing because we like U! That joke was so bad I should have deleted it! I have 5 kids aged between 16 and 2 and generally they drive me crazy so I craft to stay sane. I am very excited to be here to get the opportunity to hang out with Emily and all you guys today.

Anyway enough rambling, I’m sharing a quick beginner jewellery project, some simple tear-drop earrings

So lets grab our gear and

Supplies:
  • Beads
  • Headpins
  • Earring Hooks
  • Jump Rings
  • Jewellery Pliers

Thread the bead onto the head pin.

Bend the bead 90 degrees to one side.

Then using a pair of needle nosed pliers loop it around in the opposite directions.

Using a jump ring attach them to the earring hooks.

Since I will happily declare I that just as many fails as wins, at this point on my blog I decide whether or not the project was a delight or a disaster. This one I am declaring a delight! It’s quick simple and cheap what’s not to love?

You can check out some of my other delights:

Or for funsies come and see some of the disasters like this attempt at an Abby Cadabby hair tie holder…oh the shame!

Huge thanks to Emily for having me and I’d love it if you guys wanted to come visit me over at the Mansion, (which by the way is anything but), or catch me on any of the social media sites below.

  1. An awesome tutorial Mel! I am starting to see the fascination with beads and jewelry making. I might have to give this a try! And a big Canadian hello to Emily! Cheers.

  2. Nice tutorial Mel! Love these earrings and your sense of humor! I have never made a pair of earrings, but you make me want to try! Glad you’re staying sane and thanks for introducing me to the Benson Street blog!
