Nautical Clay Earrings

After all that beachy inspiration on Friday, I am all over the nautical loveliness with Nautical Clay Earrings! They are so fun, easy and customizable. If I am leaving the house my go to jewelry item is earrings. I love them. Kind of feel naked without them. I remember begging my mom every time we went to the mall to get my ears pierced. One day while Christmas shopping when I was 5 she gave in. I left the mall with some cute pink studs. It has been a fun jewelry love affair since! 

This is a fun way to make earrings your own. I love that you can pick the colors and shapes and do a little mix and matching. Before we get to making these cute nautical clay earrings, here are some more DIY jewelry ideas I shared with Matt & Libby on KPVI More last week.

Here are the supplies for this project! I found this neat stuff at one of my many Michael’s trips. There are lots of different colors and molds to pick from. Plus if you know me, I’m a glitter snob! This Martha Stewart glitter is the best (these are all my opinions, I was not compensated for this post).

• Silicone mold (Martha Stewart)
• Epoxy Clay (Martha Stewart)
• Glitter (Martha Stewart)
• Earring posts
• E-6000 glue

I wanted to add a little sparkle to my clay earrings, so I just lightly dusted the mold with glitter. Then set aside.

The epoxy clay comes with a color and the white is an activator. Take equal amounts of both and mix them together, until the colors are well blended.

Press the clay into the mold and make sure it gets into all the corners. Then I sliced off the excess with a plastic butter knife.

Let the clay dry in the mold for 24 hours. It doesn’t have to bake or anything. It is pretty sweet. 

When dry just pop out of the mold and glue the posts to the dry clay backs. I did a seashell and an anchor. Let the glue dry for 24 hours.

Yay a cute mix and match nautical clay earrings set. I can’t wait to wear mine around. They will be perfect for summer.

I love how the golden glitter pops out against the navy. The great thing about these clay mold is that you could do sooo many fun things with them. Necklaces, rings, bracelets, etc.
