DIY Photo Booth Tutorial

Summer is in full swing and there is a lot of fun to be had with DIY Photo Booths. I want to help you create a fab photo booth backdrop with PVC Pipe!! It is so easy and looks so beautiful. It is perfect for weddings, birthday parties or family gatherings.
Let’s start with what you will need. I’ve taken nice big pictures of the parts to help you find them (and because I don’t know their technical names).

Two “T” joints are needed to make the stand for the photo booth.

The other part of the stand is four fitted elbow joints.

To hook the top to the sides two elbow joints are needed.

Lastly, 2 seven foot PVC pipes and one for the top as wide as you would like. Mine was a little bit narrow, I would probably do five feet for the top bar.

Start by putting together the two bottom stands. Hook two fitted elbow joints into the “T” joint as show in the picture.

Take a seven foot pipe and hook into elbow joint. Hook other end of elbow joint into the top pipe. Do the same for the other seven foot pipe.

Hook into the two bottom stand pieces and you are done with the form! Super easy!

The DIY Photo Booth should look something like this.

Now is time to decorate! Using curtains or table cloths cover the frame. I used a table cloth and pinned it around the frame. A curtain would be even easier. Just slip it on the top pipe before hooking it into the elbows.

Add a banner that matches your party theme and colors. If setting up outside in a yard or grass, use wire hangers to keep the backdrop in place. Just straighten out the hanger and stick it into the ground like a stake and fix it into the feet of the DIY photo booth backdrop.

Props like a chalkboard are fun and interactive for guests. Mustaches are huge right now, cut some out of paper and glue to sticks for an easy prop. Any hats, boas, jackets, etc. Will make it fun for guests to dress up and enjoy the photo booth!
