Popcorn Can Makeover

Remember when it was winter and there was gift giving and merriment at Christmas? We were up to our ears in cookies, popcorn, and other fun stuff. The score for the DIY was this gorgeous blue and white striped popcorn can. This DIY chalkboard popcorn can was the perfect idea for storage.

I also got some other popcorn cans that were very Christmasy. My solution for these: Spray paint the entire can with one color and then add a chalkboard area or use clear chalkboard paint over the whole can and you can write whatever.

My steps for DIY Chalkboard Popcorn Can:

  1. Tape the chalkboard area.
  2. Paint 2-3 coats of chalkboard paint over the chalkboard area and letting it dry between coats.
  3. Remove tape
  4. Use the can to store anything from toys to tools, I used mine to store my garden tools.

  1. What a great idea! This is a great way to “upcycle” and add storage at the same time.
